This may only happen if they get rid of the consumer-quality GPS receiver in it. Would raise the price of the handset, though.
It's more than likely going to be the use of their own software (iMaps?) rather than use Google which has their own Mobile OS now.
the GPS and the antenna in iPhone 4 certainly works well enough. Infact, it's better than my standalone TomTom. But I see your point... TomTom is one of the consumer-quality GPS.

I've been a member of these forums for a long time now, and I really like it here, I've learnt a lot and had a lot of fun too. But, to move to the next level and actually become part of the MR team it is obvious to any idiot (even me!) that some of my old habits have to die, and I do need to be able to account for my actions. So yes, my posting may have changed slightly, but without that change my name wouldn't be in this list now, and I wouldn't be able to wasteland that spam!! :D
Evolution...;) :)Which leads us to the other part of that post...
"Battle of the Hottest Avatars" & "Let the battle commence!"
You already know where that'll lead, lot's of complaints.
So that rally call may not be a good idea.
Heck I get enough complaints about my tar choices as it is, how many compaints would that thread generate?

There are a couple nice looking brush aluminum keyboards on the market, unfortunately, they have a PC layout rather than a Mac layout.

Hmm.. 3G and GPS in our MacBooks. Finally MOFOS! For those wondering my iPhone has a unlimited data plan but what I can do is put a Prepaid Sim card in my "supposed" MacBook Pro and if it gets stolen remotely top it up Via internet then eventually the sim card will connect and get online. For those wondering Ireland 90% of the population is like on Pay go.

The bidders seem suspicious to me. They fit the pattern of scammers that buy something for a high price and end up scamming the seller in one way or another. So maybe the buyer will end up loosing his $450 picture!!! Poor guy.

The White IP4 will look sick, much like how awesome the white iPad 2 looks. I think the demand will still be strong for it due to all of the September IP5 rumors, and the fact that I know tons of people that have broken old iPhone are are waiting for the white to release. I would not expect crazy demand for it, but sales should be very good.
Why do some posters put down peoples choices or even the fact that it exists in white?
So, if you don't like a white iphone, buy black. It's all good:-)
I like black, but my daughter likes white. When I asked why, she said it goes well with her white ipad and white MacBook, when they are all on her desk.
Sounds like as good a reason as any.
She has a 3GS off contract that is totally on it's last legs (broken glass replaced with plastic, battery empty mid-day), so her only decision is to wait out the next iphone or not.
Unfortunately she has never been able to wait for anything(despite me mentioning not to buy 1st gen Apple products), so she'll probably buy the ip4 in white.
I bet there are many people out there in the same situation.

Just to let know everybody that i just sent my first complain about edesignuk as a moderator.
Don't know why I'm bothering here but why in the hell would you make this public? If you had a legitimate complaint, I'm sure you would have posted a link to the thread. Are you trying to cause trouble? (highly likely given your history).
This seems an appropriate pic.

Good God Edesign you caught that Napster double post in less than a minute.
Luck of the draw. Just got back from getting lunch, hit "New Posts" and it was sitting there. With more of us around things *should* get caught quicker.

Taken from my trip to the Dallas Auto show last weekend; Nissan GTR aka Nissan Skyline. I've dreamed of having this car stateside for most of my youth. Now that it's finally here, Nissan guaranteed I will NEVER own one with the $80k price tag. :(

Saft Demo
Anyone know how to remove Saft 7.5.5 Demo from Safari?
Thanks
If you haven't found the answer to your question here is what I did.
I found the answer on:
http://haoli.dnsalias.com/Saft/Installation/index.html
It recomends
Removal
Run Saft Installer and choose uninstall, or Move Saft in /Library/InputManagers to Trash.
I ran the Saft installer but did not get the choice to uninstall so I moved
/Library/InputManagers to Trash and that did the trick.

I don't think this one has been mentioned.... I think Microsoft's Remote Desktop is a wonderful app. I have had my iBook for almost a year now and Remote Desktop was one of the major reasons I decided to delve into the Mac world. I go to a college with abundant wireless access and I can basically use my Mac as both a Mac and PC (Remote Desktop allows you to remotely log in to a windows machine). And don't just on me for this.....there are some programs at school we have to use that are Windows only....

Don't the movie studios operate as commercial businesses? Don't they make a profit (overall - some movies flop I know)?
They couldn't affort to spend $100M/movie if they didn't get the money back!
Therefore, iPod sales are 'extra' income for them.
I know that there may be some drop-off in theatre ticket sales if the same movie is available via iPod sometime in the future, but don't they face this now with DVD sales?
It may be simplistic, but why not hold back offering the on-line sale of the movie until they have exhausted the 'theatre experience' the way they do with DVD sales, and then get ready for the '2nd wave' of additional income.
I agree that you should pay for what you have, but I also think you should get what you pay for without excessive restrictions. Yes, electronic media differs from physical media and some rules should be different, but the underlying principles stay the same.
Susan
Except that iPod/iTMS sales would represent, generally speaking, the loss of a DVD sale. They would love, I am sure, to ONLY sell through iTMS and similar services, assuming:
1) They sold the same number of copies,
2) They had the same or great profit margin, and
3) They had better/stricter copy protection.
On that note, I'm still amazed no one has reverse engineered the iTMS video copy protection scheme. I hear DVDJohn has done it, but is using his powers for "good" (well, his good) and selling it to companies who want to offer DRM'd video for playback on iPods without going through Apple.

My first computer stored data on audio cassette tape. Anyone know how much data that is?
In theory you could have had petabytes of data if your cassette tape was long enough! :) However, at the data rates used by early personal computers a 90-minute cassette tape might hold about 600K of data.
The real limit was the capacity of your computer to hold data read off the cassette tape. For example, the Sinclair ZX-81 had a minimum capacity of 1K and a maximum of 56K, so that's the most you could read off of a cassette tape and into memory.
