Even though the immigration is the highest priority for all of us on this web site, that is not the same with Mr. President elect. He has to take care of other pressing issues like economy, Iraq war etc. first.

I think it makes a lot of sense in what Janakp is conveying. These online petitions are no good and will achieve nothing. It is better we meet our congressmen/senators and convey these issues to them or their staff.

Can you share the link where you read that adding F1 to I-485 application is allowed? I am pretty sure that being on F-1 visa the intent to immigrate is not recognized. (Think about it, we would have all the students applying for Green cards then:)
You need to share your priority date as well as when you applied for 485. Assuming your 485 has been pre-adjudicated like a lot of people, I would think an RFE would only be triggered if you have any service records update (like address change on 485, I-140 withdrawl etc). Else they'll just wait for your dates to get current and once it is, they'll simply allot you a visa number.
Secondly, please recognize that once you lose your H-1b status, you will not be able to add your wife to 485 through AOS, but she will have to go through Consular Processing (UNLESS YOUR WIFE OBTAINS HER OWN H-1B or L-1).

To reeneter you need approved I-797 of the employer that you will be working for as well as unexpired H1 stamp. Stamp can be for the other employer as long as it is not expired.
You cannot eneter using the receipt, you need approval. So if it seems to be taking a long time to get approval go ahead and upgrade your petition to premium

Hi
My wife need to travel to india urgently. Our visa/I94 expired in Oct. We already applied 485 and is pending.
1) Will there be any issue at airpot as I94 is expired.A xerox copy of 485 receipt is sufficient.
2) Does she need to travel any path in this case( I heard thru London is issue if visa is expired.France/Amsterdam Etcc..)

I agree this crappy bill better not pass and is worse than retrogression. It is screwing everyone at the cost of giving amnesty to illegals. It is such a joke I would have never imagined that they would have the balls to do this, but I guess they are all politicians!!!

If it passes the house, conference will be piece of cake.
Our best hope is:
1. When senators return to the constituencies for the memorial day recess, they receive a LOT of negative feedback about CIR and enough number of senators change their minds and vote in -ve and bill fails to make out of the Senate. Likelihood: 10-20%.
2. House of reps votes on this CIR and defeats it. Likelihood: 40-60%.
I hope one way or another, this piece of crap fails and I happily get my GC in another 5-10 years. If it passes, I'll have to pack my bags. Amen.

What happens if someones PD remains current ( say someone in 2000 stuck in FBI namecheck) and GC is stuck! Is it EAD all the way to the end thereafter?

I have gone through the same situation. My lawyer appealed with the original paper advertizement and my perm was cleared about one and half years later. I don't see any issue here as long as your employer has followed all the perm steps. Good Luck.

Job title is secondary when it comes to AC21. The descriptions is what should match for the same/similar category. However, what a PM does in terms of planning and directing a team is not same/similar as what a Technical lead or Architect does, at least in the company that I work for.
