I accidentally posted this over in the March thread first by accident forgetting that its April already. I guess that makes me the April Fool :cool:
Anyway, here is mine for the day. It's a sculpture thingy.

I'm planning on heading to the Game Farm (like a zoo run by the Department of Fish and Wildlife) tomorrow morning, so hopefully I will have a bunch of new stuff to share.

case manufacturers that Apple is constantly screwing.
It remains to be seen if this change will affect many but this constantly happens to these third party partners.
That slight move of the volume button probably cost some of them a great deal in retooling expenses. Apple could have given them a heads up, but, oh god forbid anyone know what the great ones are up too.
But hey what do you care, right?
Were all very glad you like your new phone and hope you find a case that fits!;)

Progress is good, but I don't see any killer apps which will make me upgrade day 1. This might change, but really 10.4 does everything I need it to do so far.
I guess my pro apps will probably force me to upgrade at some point.
Does anyone else get a kitten ichat image with the third spotlight image? Is that a new feature? (/me missed something.)
[edit] ah I get it now. That image should have some context around it... its a preview image in spotlight... maybe I' slow today. :)

Apple will be stupid, make their TV the same shape as the others and be sued by everyone.

It's the new Kitten War (http://kittenwar.com/) integration in 10.5--supposed to be a top-secret feature but I guess the cat's out of the bag (pun intended for my enjoyment only--I'm in a lonnng meeting).

It came out yesterday. Not a couple of hours ago. I stream Sirius radio on the weekdays at work and I notice a difference in the battery usage.

Just as I said and expected, only minor changes. I think its great Apple is giving 2GB of memory in standard configs, that is hopefully a sign of things to come in the pro line overall.

I clearly state it's not an HD-DVD player, nor do I say it's the only upscaling "player" out there. It IS the only game console that upscales standard DVDs at this point though.
And you really think this is a major factor for people buying a 400$CAD - 500$CAD game console?
Upscaling DVDs to 720p is something I expect from those 30$CAD no-name DVD players in about 6 months.

I wonder if this new pricing scheme is being enabled by the record labels with lower wholesale pricing to Amazon (to try, yet again, to take power out of Apple's hands), or if Amazon is simply doing this at a loss?
Why would Amazon want to take a loss - to support non-Apple mp3 players?
For Apple, they are not making much, if any money - they always planned it as a break-even business - the real value was the content eco-system tied to their products (= value for customers).

You don't need Rosetta, iOS is Intel 64 native. You get a copy with Xcode called the Simulator.
Just because iOS can be/has been built for x86 doesn't mean you wouldn't need a Rosetta-like instruction translation layer to run AppStore iOS apps. Those apps are all compiled for Arm6/7. Apple could support some sort of Universal binary in the future, but apps in the AppStore would have to be rebuilt by their creators.

This is absurdly false. In the debt service was approximately $400 billion. In that year personal income taxes amounted to $1044 billion dollars. Corporate taxes amounted to $354 billion dollars, and other taxes (which includes social security) amounted to $1009 billion dollars. The total tax receipts by the Federal government was over $2.3 TRILLION dollars.
The assets OWNED by the United States (it's citizens and the government), excluding those owned by foreign investors, were $62.5 trillion dollars in 2005.
So the total national debt is less than 4% of the net worth of the cournty.
PS: For what it is worth, a measure of a healthy business is a debt to worth ration of 2 to 1. In other words, if the US were a business, it would be doing uncommonly well. Apple would be doing even better!

If they add the "word processing mode", then that simultaneously renforces my gripes with it (see other threads), then negates them.
It's an extra step in setting up a document, but I like the thought of it from a productivity standpoint. As long as there's no Clippy.
I am sure Apple will be wise enough to have an option in Preferences for Pages to set the default start up mode. So if you know you do mostly wordprocessing, it will automatically start in that. Also, you should be able to toggle modes.
