Actually, as has been said before, there'll be public holidays somewhere everyday, 'so many countries' may mean something, but since you're talking about today, tomorrow could very well happen.
As I have said this before... :) Ill put my money on tomorrow! At least that is what I am planning for...I need a new computer!

I just did that, and loaded one of them into Photoshop for a little measurement. Here is what I got:

That ones not really too accurate due to the camera angle...its on a slope.
Also just run this through myself.
I get 79.2 on the White iPhone and 78.9 on the black. Given that I also had to level the image that sounds about right. Theres no way you can call your or my results accurate from a wonky photo however as photoshop attempts to enhance an image when rotating to level, thus distorting the original.

Grab yourself a copy of xdelta (http://xdelta.org/) and do your fancy small update package yourself. There's even no need to look at Google, this was common practice on Gentoo GNU/Linux years ago (http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=318671). I remember running a satellite server myself. However, that were ISDN/Analog/DSL 765k days, who on 16MBit cares whether the updates are 30 or 300MB anymore, as long as Apple hosts the files?

NO - it does state that Apple had a major role - don't have the interest to get into a tech crunch vs engadget pi$$ing match as to which one is correct BUT there are some articles CITING the point.

It's done on purpose because we've been used to backwards scrolling all these years. Why should a mouse's scroll wheel control the scroll bar, and not the page you want to scroll? When you think about it, it's kind of silly to add that extra layer of abstraction when you don't need it.
Now it's been corrected - it takes almost no time to get used to it. Embrace it, and you'll be ok.

Thunderbolt is absolutely amazing and I think most people here aren't looking far enough ahead. A single connection that can handle massive bandwidth, is scalable in the future, can handle display as well as just data throughput, and can do this over long distances is good for more than just hard drives. Imagine a wall of displays with one cable. Imagine a stack of external processors. Imagine owning your own private data center!
Thunderbolt is faster than the hard drive today, but when one component gets faster it lets the others get faster too. Without a data bottleneck in the cable, there is now an incentive for drive makers to develop faster storage. If you can move this kind of data around, why not build cheap little add on processors? You could buy a laptop and then buy a couple external processors that would bump you up to 12 core tower speed while remaining cheap and portable.
Who cares if you have a bunch of USB stuff today. Think forward!

Apple didn't update the form factors was to ease people into Intel. Apple had to convince upgraders that they were still using a Mac, and that the inside was the only thing that changed (for the better). Now that Gen 1 Intel is complete Apple can update the form factors as they have proved Macs will always be Macs.

Not if they're grandfathered in! AT&T has stated in their proposal papers to the FCC that they're going to honor the T-Mobile plans in contract even if they upgrade phones.
A T-Mobile rep told me the same thing. But he also said this process might take a year - IF it goes through.

my fear is the democrats will try to use this a political gain and that is so very wrong both to the military and for this good event.
It turns a great event into worthless BS. It was just luck of the draw that a Dem was in power when this happen and it was only a matter of time. I already am watching some people try to turn it into political gain and it makes me sick.
And if a Republican was in office when it happened, you don't think they would have tried to use it for political gain?

I'm confused. Everyone is arguing whether $20/yr for "this" is too expensive.

Is it for music purchased through iTunes, or is it for *all* of your music (ripped, downloaded, emailed, created, legal, illegal, whatever)?
Is it only for music that happens to be sold by the 4 major labels that Apple apparently made agreements with?
If it's anything less than "a music locker for everything, with no exceptions", then count me out. I have tons of ripped music and I have no idea which labels they are from. i had to activate the multi-touch gestures with "Xcode", the new 4.3.2 update doesn't activate multi-touch....

I agree. I like MS strategy. They want to get their foot in the door and compete, then sell you all kinds of other ish. Look at the XBOX/XBOX 360, they may sell them at a loss, but with the Software, XBOX Live, and the Marketplace, they are making their money.

Just like Microsoft grabbed the market in the early days of personnal computing and has the biggest share today, maybe Microsoft will have to be happy with a 10-15% MP3 player marketshare in 5-10 years.

I've added eldiablojoe to my list because when he is a wolf, he acts extremely gullible. When he was the seer he did not.
