This morning at Fashion Island was a success. They received probably 50 or so, almost exclusively verizon models with about 4 wifi models.
I got the one I wanted 3G, 64gb, white, but I wanted ATT. It wasn't a deal breaker to get a Verizon iPad so I am a happy camper!

After my Panasonic 32" HDTV bit the dust after only 13 months (1 year warranty, of course!), I got this 42" Vizio 1080P 120 MHZ to replace it. Panasonic, I hate you!
Also got a PS3 Slim recently when my old fatty died. It's in the upper left adjacent to the 360, but you can't really see in photo because I am no photographer. :o
Due to my bad luck with electronics of late, I went against my previous convictions, and got extended warranties this time. :rolleyes:
For those considering this TV model, I'm extremely satisfied with the picture quality.

I now have 2 gpu's running which should put up some additional points. I have stopped the cpu folding on that machine, it wasn't doing nearly as many ppd in windows as it was in linux. Hopefully I can push over the 400k ppw mark but we shall see.
I am used to win xp at work but win 7 has been a challenge to figure out, so many things have changed...

And here my last purchase: Shaken green tea lemonade - I quit buying coffee from starbucks to reduce my sugar intake but I needed something to get from the coffee shop!
Hopefully you got it with no Classic(the default sugar syrup that goes it in). If you didn't it has six pumps...:D

It's not a marginal increase. The Sandy Bridge 1.4Ghz ULV (expected to be in the new 11") is 40% faster than the C2D LV 1.86Ghz chip that's currently in the base 13" in some benchmarks.

Yeah, if you read the whole patent (http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=1902), you'll notice that it makes mention of "force sensors" underneath the display to tell if it is a "light" or "hard" touch. A finger being waved above an object doesn't have force to sense, and in looking at the more tablet-oriented part of the patent, you can see that a hand is clearly holding the object (http://images.appleinsider.com/patent-ipod-touch19.gif). The document also makes several references to the input devices appearing or disappearing based on the proximity of a finger.
It would seem that the main purpose of this is to make overlays like this possible:

Its clear Apple is missing something in the midrange desk top line. Its time for the Cube or Macintosh or headless iMac or Max Mini or something. iMac isnt for everyone and the world has billions of big beautiful displays just waiting for a midrange Mac but if Apple prices it again the same as the towers it will be another failure. Its way past time for the next Macintosh. Needs a real GPU, at least 1 expansion slot and should be priced right along with ugly iMac:D or a pinch below.

Not that a Mac is a mere PC, but the VAST majority of Windoze PCs are under $600. Why not put out a $700-1000 Mac? Increase the market share even more. I hope that you are correct, but it does mention May 2nd and 3rd. I know that we will have thunderbolt, but I would also love to see USB 3.0 and Firewire 800. And some impressive GPU options.

I see where you are getting at but who would want to use an ipod for video conferencing when the business user which it is aimed at rather use a phone like the Razr V3x, a pda or that new 4.5in Sony tablet pc.
What makes you think that it's aimed at "business users"? Seriously? Is VOIP and/or video-conferencing solely meant for just businesses? Mere mortals need to stay away from it?

as others have mentioned, i'm a little surprised that only the 17inch model has a 7200rpm drive option. i'm going to check with apple directly to see if i can get a custom 15inch with a 7200 drive. my audio apps don't work well with the anything slower.
having said that, the ram, fw800 and dual layer burner are a nice addition
Agreed about the lack of 7200HD options, sucks for music on the go, esp. using ableton live. Though an external FW800 drive will help bridge the gap.

The big plus of a wireless iPod, I think, would be the ability to sync the iPod live over IP. This should start a move away from the the home Mac/PC as the "feeder" for the iPod. It has always urked me that I can't have my computer at home and at the office learn what songs I download from the other and sync the database accordingly.
This becomes even more important when the Mac mini media center rolls out and we've all got another device to sync.

I might be a bit off topic here, but im gonna risk it anyways...
I am a VS2005 c# developer (Compact Framework) and in the process of switching to Mac.
I am currently working exclusivly on a Dell PC, and toying with the idea of throwing away that ugly piece of plastic, and getting a shiny new mac book pro.
Now here is the thing : how do i keep the great performance i currently have on my Dell ? (bootcamp is out of the question since I do not want to keep booting my machine to check emails etc...)
Will VMWare cut it ? I head some discussion on the poor performace Parallels has when it comes to disk access (compiling is disk intensive).
Any thoughts ? did any one here try it ?
