I'll be quite disappointed and most likely skip my first generation of iPhone if they don't integrate 4g antennas. If they're going to delay release (from their normal schedule) we would at least hope to see competitive hardware features with the android phones that come out on a seemingly daily basis.
To chose a 4G phone over an iPhone in 2011 is a poor choice and the result of marketing and nothing more. Unless you live in spot with great 4G service and never plan to leave the house, you won't see average speeds any faster than an AT&T iPhone. Not to mention your web browser won't render pages half as fast as Safari, so speed differences are utterly negated.

Hey Apple - ya think your user base might be interested in Flash??
Lol.
Yeah, you know what's best for us users though - so we should be elated that you are resisting support for it tooth and nail.
Well, in perspective it doesn't really mean much -- Apple has sold 33 million iPhones, so that's 1% which were interested in SkyFire / Flash.

I meant a source for your ideas of how those involved in Al-Qaeda branded cells viewed Osama as invincible.
How could that be when it is well known the man has messed up kidneys and needed ongoing medical care as well as dialysis?
It sounded more to me like you think that is how members view him.I think they assumed that the US would never find and kill him. He probably told his followers that and they probably believed him

I'm going to assume it doesn't mean that you actually control the thing without touching it, rather it just makes the wheel disappear when you aren't holding it. That seems to be a more useful idea.
I mean, otherwise, it's a useless feature, except to prevent screen scratching.
Yeah, if you read the whole patent (http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=1902), you'll notice that it makes mention of "force sensors" underneath the display to tell if it is a "light" or "hard" touch. A finger being waved above an object doesn't have force to sense, and in looking at the more tablet-oriented part of the patent, you can see that a hand is clearly holding the object (http://images.appleinsider.com/patent-ipod-touch19.gif). The document also makes several references to the input devices appearing or disappearing based on the proximity of a finger.
It would seem that the main purpose of this is to make overlays like this possible:
http://guides.macrumors.com/images/thumb/d/dd/1fullipodav.jpg/800px-1fullipodav.jpg
This isn't a "none-touch" patent.

Apple has received a great deal of favorable publicity in the last year as it introduced the iPhone and increased market share in computer sales. Whenever a company gets that kind of publicity, a number of people will buy its stock simply because it was mentioned in the newspapers, without really analyzing whether the stock was actually worth that or not. This halo effect can last as long as six months to a year, but it disappears on the appearance of any bad news, in this case a market downturn.
Apple was grossly overvalued because of all the publicity, so it was the first stock to be dumped when the market turned down. Now it is probably grossly undervalued. Personally, I stay away from volatility. There are too many people who are trading stocks, as opposed to investing in companies. There is a big difference. One is looking for a quick profit on a short-term change in price; the other is looking for long-term accumulation of value.
The short-term traders often do quite well and they brag about their successes, but overall their investments do not do as well as if they had put their money in slot machines in Vegas. That is why I stay away from volatility.

I like this investment adage:
"Buy high, sell even higher."
So that's what I've been doing wrong! :p
Perhaps another old adage needs to be thrown around here: diversify, diversify, diversify, diversify!

They undoubtedly exist, as they're based on biochemical pathways. You can't necessarily change that, at least easily. I don't think that's the point hes trying to make, however, as he does have a point in the willpower effect-- it's basically the same as the placebo effect; your belief in something can have a positive chemical effect upon your bodies pathways. In the case of drug users, this can be seen in the "bottoming out" effect-- the addiction pathway doesn't suddenly flip, in fact in almost all cases it always remains permanently on, rather it's the person and their willpower who decides that they've had enough.
The human mind is an amazing thing, especially in its ability to either alter or deal with modified pathways caused by external stress factors.
Yes, willpower, self control, discipline, and choice do play a major role in the recovery process, but they are not all that is required and it is certainly not an easy or quick process. To say AA or 12 step programs are a "joke" doesn't leave much room for interpretation and is quite different than what you have stated. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I'd respectfully disagree based on my profession and experience.
I completely understand people having a hard time with those that use alcohol or drugs as an excuse for things in life, but I'm talking about genuine addiction, not just immaturity. It's much more than "biochemical pathways" and the habitual firing of familiar neurons. The aspects of psychological dependence that affect spirit, identity, and will can be debilitating and are often the most difficult things to change.

Like millions of other Mac owners, I don't play any games on my Mac and haven't for years. With iOS devices and consoles being so much cheaper, it just doesn't make any sense to me to pimp-up my Mac for gaming.
You aren't the only person Apple sells computers to either. To a lot of people being able to at least play some games on the go is a selling point that must be met for a travel device.

Now here's some interesting theories. The dollar started its decline long before the Fed began lowering interest rates. In fact it has stabilized and gained back some since. Actually, the president submits budgets to Congress. Finally, when the market swings wildly as it has recently, look to the behavior of large institutional investors. They are the controllers of large blocks of shares. What they decide moves markets, not small-time investors. They're just along for the ride, for the most part.
The Dollar's largest losses have come as a result of the previous 3 rate cuts.
The budget the President submits, and what Congress approves, are not the same, after pork-barrel spending is added in.
I'm not quite sure you have a grasp of the markets...

We've alreaddy seen threads entitled "Waiting for Santa Rosa" though, I think this will be a never ending cycle under intel. :(
Intel just needs to start working on a line of chips codenamed Godot now. :D
Would anyone happen to know if they changed the case design.
The apple store is still down
The 17 inch looks almost affordable, almost.
Store's back up now; the case looks exactly the same aside from the additional FW800 port on the 15-inch model.
The 17-inch model is exactly as affordable as it was, no more, no less (assuming the purchaser's cash/credit situation hasn't changed).

Over the years, Sheen has shown himself to be pretty volatile. But that being said, Chuck Lorre is also a piece of work. What's funny, but not surprising, is how in many ways the two guys are similar.
Sure, Charlie has had great success with this show and was in some high profile movies, and sure Chuck Lorre has been at the helm of some high profile projects, but somewhere along the way, nobody told either of these men they were not God.
Anyway, it will be interesting, yet predictable, to see this war of words back and forth. I don't think the world would miss Sheen or Lorre leaving Hollywood.

Ok ok , I havent read alll the 7 other pages but ... I noticed something on the mouse description :
Bluetooth technology, ultimate portability
With its secure, reliable Bluetooth technology, wireless Mighty Mouse goes wherever you do. Pair it with any Bluetooth-enabled Mac to work untethered and uncluttered at your desk or on the go, and it operates with either one or two AA batteries no bulky dock required.
I thought it was an error ... but no . Yoiu can either use 1 or 2 batteries ... isnt that cool. So, if you are like me, when your wireless mouse is dying ... and you can only find 1 bat. that is cool :D:)

I guess I must be old school, I'm a consumer and I think about my wallet before the corporations treasure chest. Apple isn't pumping most of the profits back int the company or paying it out to shareholders. It's sitting in the bank. Or maybe they have something unimaginably huge in mind and I guess that is a possibility.
Hasn't Apple's success helped you think about your wallet? Companies are just now being able to price-match the iPad.

If you do circlular motion (like in current iPod) the device would scroll, adjust volume, and do the other things you can do on the current iPod. If you move your finger straigh up, it would be equivaltnof clicking "menu". Straight down would be play/pause and so forth.
Yup - this would be a good way of implementing things - much like the Newton's guesture-based interface where you draw an up line to capitalize words, down to set them to lower case, scribble to delete something, etc.
The Newton interface still rocks today and it would be great to see some elements of it re-appear in the next generation iPods...

iAdware apparently works by silently installing a system library. That sounds like a vulnerability that Apple could easily fix, by requiring Admin privileges, issuing a warning, and/or prompting for an Admin password.
